Costing Manager / Senior Cost Accountant

Costing Manager / Senior Cost Accountant
Responsibilities:
* Manage Services business unit, including:
* Defining work flow.
* Coordinating activities between services, orders, AR, accounting, and cost.
* Monthly reporting and financial review.
* Revenue and cost analysis and reconciliations as needed.
* Maintenance of bills of materials and routings.
* Recommend changes to policies and established procedures that effect immediate organizations.
* Support reporting packages and processes for all locations.
* Analyze and interpret gross margins, cost variances, inventory movements, and other accounting reports as they relate to cost
* Work with external auditors to ensure that the cost accounting and reporting adheres to GAAP standards.
* Review and present cost analysis on a monthly basis to finance and manufacturing teams.
* Support quarterly and annual audits by the external auditors, including review and explanations of activity as required.
* Participating in the maintenance of the internal financial control environment ensuring accurate financial statements and safeguarding company assets
* Support / drive process improvement initiatives: process definition, accounting and reporting metrics, new product releases, inventory controls, BOMs and routings, budgeting and forecasting, cycle count program and metrics
* Interact with supervisors, customers, and managers of various functional areas and lead cooperative efforts among members of a project team.
Requirements:
* Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or other related qualifications
* At least 5 years of experience in a cost accounting role in a manufacturing environment.
* Successful track record of effectively interfacing with manufacturing and management and bringing them value-added ideas and information to improve profitability
* Familiar with automated financial packages like JDE and COGNOS preferred.
* Strong technical accounting skills.
* Strong communication skills-both oral and written; presentation experience is required.
* Ability to persuade and influence via presentations to Sr. Mgmt.
* Proven leadership skills and management experience leading teams. This includes recruitment, management and development of subordinates, as well as to delegate and to work well with others.
* Strong organization, planning and prioritization skills.
