Some of the best and most interesting art can be found in New York City, and the February Show is no exception. Curated by JunLee and Heather Hart, the show which runs February 17th through June 30th, highlights the diverse perspectives behind Black History Month. We personally love the fact that the February Show gives a more thorough insight into black culture, which is so often overlooked.
"Our thoughts on the show touched upon the idea that this national celebration is an impetus for demanding a more thorough knowledge of our national history, and upon the absurdity that our nation assigns the recognition of Black American Culture to the shortest month of the year.", the curators state.
A reception will be held on February 17th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at The Chocolate Factory on 636 11th Avenue, New York City where the collection will also be on display. For more information call 212-237-5975.
